Ms Reingard Berger
Reingard Berger was born in Berlin in 1955. From 1973 to 1977 she studied economics with focus on traffic engineering in Dresden at the Academy of Traffic Engineering “Friedrich List”, where she also ran the students’ theatre. Until 1989 she worked as expediter and purchasing manager for state-run enterprises in Berlin and Wismar.
Being one of the first entrepreneurs of the post-GDR era, Reingard Berger opened her hotel on August 25th, 1991. Starting with four rooms, she continuously expanded the hotel to its present size. From the outset, Reingard Berger had her own produce of jams and jellies. In 2004 she extended her manufacture to spirits and oils and started developing foods using roses.
Since 2009, Reingard Berger is member of the Wismar city parliament (Bürgerschaft) and, as an independent, part of the green faction. As a sideline, the mother of two sons creates textile art.
